Writing To Die For was extremely rewarding. I did not use an outline. I had my initial idea, and I ran with it. I unintentionally left goose eggs that got worked into my ending, I let myself get dark. I wrote without boundaries. My book has been called “pitch black” though honestly I felt like I could have gotten even darker. Maybe I need more therapy? I don’t know. Let me know after my next thriller comes out!

I also exposed a dark part of my trauma in this book. Chapter 39. Writing this chapter unlocked PTSD nightmares, but it was worth it because I was able to pull my readers in so deeply that many have cried while reading it.

My spicy scenes were too spicy. Is that even a thing? haha. My editor told me “I feel like I’m reading porn written for men.” LMAO. So, I had to edit those scenes a bit, and there are quite a few. In fact, my first draft of the book was basically 90% sex. I had to fix that too lol. And that my friends, is why editing and beta readers are important.
